Class Profile:

Welcome to Year 1.

Our teacher is Miss. Wilson but we have a team of teachers who work together to help us learn. There is Mrs. Sherratt, Mrs. Akhtar, Miss. Fegan, Mrs. Wiggin and Mrs. Ballyn.

We work hard in Year 1 and we love to write. We have made quite a few class books that are displayed in our class if you would like to come and see them.

We also love maths and we play lots of games to help us get better at adding and subtracting! We also have a hairy helper who sits on our hundred square in class to help us count.

During the Summer term we are finding out about different places around the world! We have a teddy in class who we named Miss. Dizzy and during the holidays she visited New York! We are going to be finding out about some of the places she went later on in the term.

We have also been tasting different foods from around the world and have found out where they grow.

We went to Sainsburys to buy some different foods and then brought them back to class to look at and to taste.

We have looked at lentils, daal and coffee beans and tasted fruits such as pineapple, mango, lychees, coconut and passion fruit.

Mrs. Wiggin is from Portugal and she brought in some food to show us! The dry fish didn't look very nice.

We can identify the places that they come from on the map outside our classroom and we are beginning to add more to it every week.
