Early Years

The Early Years Foundation Stage at our school is delivered within two classes: Nursery and Reception.  Our vision is to provide the best possible opportunities and experiences for each individual child to become independent, healthy, happy and confident learners in a safe environment.  Our staff have high expectations and engage with children as co players in a stimulating environment which promotes and values investigation, curiosity and creativity.

We recognise the role that parents and carers have already played in the early education of their child and that continued involvement is crucial to successful learning. Three members of the Early Years team are bilingual and support our parents, carers and children using home language.

We believe that Foundation Stage education should not be seen as separate but as a step in the process of learning.  The curriculum is the means by which children's learning is stimulated and through which a range of life skills are developed.  The activities and experiences provided such as outdoor learning, visits within the local community and further afield help us to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which is appropriate to the needs of the children.
